Adilene Pimentel Assignment #1

Hello Fellow classmates and Professor,

My name is Adilene Pimentel. Let’s see how this works out for me, since this whole blog thing is all new to me. I am a 22 year old female, I live with both my parents and one of my sisters, my younger sister is off at Northwestern State University of Louisiana. I have lived in Ventura county my whole life. The first 8 years I lived in El Rio and the remaining 14 years here in Oxnard.  My childhood and adolescent life was great. Throughout my years of elementary, Jr high and high school I was what they would call a “nerd”, my parents would always stress to me about the importance of school and having nothing lower than a B+. I have played soccer for about 12 years of my life now. My life pretty much consisted of school, soccer practice soccer games, and well, that’s pretty much it. Soccer helped me travel to many wonderful places like Italy, Germany, Mexico and various parts of California as well as many other states here in USA. While in Italy I visited many areas like Venice, Rome, Florence, Naples, Pisa and many more areas.

Now I work full time, I am a full time student as well. My goal is to make school my main priority once again. Let’s just say I took a little mental vacation from school on these past few years. But now I have matured enough to know that without my diploma and an education I am not going to get very far in life. I currently am enrolled in 14 units and plan on passing every single class. I have a great job at a clinic working for a billing department. I just graduated from the Certified nursing Assisting program at the Oxnard adult school program. Soccer is an occasional hobby due to my busy work and school schedule. I work for a billing department for a clinic here in Oxnard. My responsibility ate work is to help code medical diagnosis. As well as help patients fill out applications for insurance programs we offer.

As for my future I am currently undecided between a registered Nurse or a Doctor. I am simply going with the flow, starting off with my RN program and from there I plan on moving up and adding more years of school as well as certifications. My plans are to either attend CSUCI, Ventura college or Northridge University for the RN program. Once I receive my masters degree in nursing I plan on applying for a position at Ventura County Hospital. As far as getting married and forming a family I do not see that in the close future, but until I have finished all my school and received my degree. My hope is that this class can help improve my writing skills as well as my vocabulary to help me better my future and knowledge. Thank you and I wish u a great day and semester.
